Stations
Travel. it’s one of those fundamental drivers for so many. The thought of it fills you with excitement, you go somewhere with someone, experience things. There is another kind of travel. Our societies are built around the grind of work-eat-sleep. The phenomenon of commuting and business travel is central to our daily lives. But this travel is anything but exciting. It is mundane, a necessary evil. Stressful. But also waiting. Boredom. Even lonely. Since we are so many doing it, entire cities are built around its infrastructure. Airports, central railway stations, metro stations, tram stops and bus stops. The amount of concrete and steel that goes into building our own large-format ant stacks is incalculable. These images are centered around those places, where so many pass by but virtually nobody meets.
